Join us for a memorable evening as Movie Project Leader, Bob Lowman, presents this informative program to adults on Thursday, September 30 from 7-8:15 pm, in the Meeting Room. Seating is limited. MDL cardholders register September 16, and all others September 19. To register, pick up a free ticket at the Information Desk.
Two years ago, Bob Lowman made a major Marshall History discovery. He found five rusty movie canisters in an old file cabinet in the basement of the GAR Hall. These canisters contained a long-lost movie produced in 1940, with all Marshall Actors. The Marshall Historical Society had the movie cleaned and transferred to a DVDE format. The movie’s plot is about a Hollywood movie queen contest for the young ladies in Marshall. During this presentation, Lowman will tell how and why the movie was made, and highlight some key pictures from the movie.
The DVD will be available for purchase at two movie premiers scheduled for October 23 and 24.
The Marshall District Library, serving the populations of Marshall, Fredonia, Eckford and Marengo Townships, and the city of Marshall, is located at 124 West Green Street.
