Light Up The Sky by Moss Hart
This delightful 1940's comedic tribute to New York theatre-folk is frothy, fast-paced and deliciously evil-tongued. At the Boston tryout of a new Broadway show, the lead actress, the producer, his wife, the director, and several others are all in seventh-heaven anticipating a tremendous success with the earnest and experimental work of a young unknown writer. The upbeat mood proves short-lived, however, at a post-performance gathering of the same characters. Accusations fly over the perceived flop they have on their hands – until a surprising turn of fortune gives everyone a happy ending.
